MANA PROJECT SECURES MAJOR MILL EQUIPMENT Press Release

SEMAFO (TSX – SMF) announced today the purchase of a new fully
automated ball mill, a mobile crushing and screening unit and
a power plant for the construction of its Mana project in Burkina
Faso. These purchases respect the time schedules outlined in the
Engineering, Procurement and Construction Management contract
(«EPCM»).
The 3,500 KW ball mill has been purchased from Outokumpu. It
is a 17.5’ X 24’ grinding mill designed for a 4,000 ton per day
capacity. It is scheduled for delivery to site in early September
2007.
The crushing unit purchased from Roc Impact
consists of a primary jaw crusher with grizzly feeders equipped
with a Modicon Quantum automated system similar to the treatment
plant.The crushing plant is designed for a 250 ton per hour (6,000
ton per day) capacity and is expected to be delivered on site
in March 2007.
The power plant has been purchased from BIA Export and consists
of eight Cummins generating sets (C1,400D5) of 1,000 kW each to
fulfill the 5,000 kW needed for the treatment plant prior to the
usage of the government’s planned power line expected to reach
the site in early 2008. The power plant is expected to be delivered
on site in April 2007.
